Pixel Dreams – My Favorite Bedtime Video Game Tunes

Have you ever gone to sleep after a marathon gaming session and continued the adventure in your dreams? I’m sure just about everybody has experienced this in some shape/form. Vivid deams of fighting futuristic wars, strategerizing historic battles, or even trying to farm that one last diamond block usually make for an interesting night’s sleep.

Chrono Trigger Zzzzz...

Unfortunately for me though, I can’t have marathon gaming sessions every night (maybe I’m just weak, eh T.T) so instead I try falling asleep to video game music — not only because I hope it invokes some crazy gametastic dream, but because the music itself is incredibly enjoyable — and to be honest, I feel like I sleep better!

Some of my favorite bedtime tunes include:

Yasunori Mitsuda – Chrono TriggerTo Far Away Times

C418 – MinecraftWet Hands

Matt Uelmen – DiabloTristram

Takenobu Mitsuyoshi & Yuzo Koshiro – ShenmueShenhua

Masakazu Sugimori – Phoenix Wright: Ace AttorneyCourt Begins

Koichi Sugiyama – Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed KingHeavenly Flight

What are some of your favorites?

  1. Love love love the Phoenix Wright song. Also, that Minecraft song knocks me right out. xD

  2. I love the minecraft one! I actually found this page looking for music to listen to in bed, I’m just gonna steal this playlist from you tonight 😀

I love C418’s work for Minecraft, actually reminds me of Nobuo Uematsu a ton.
